“I have spent the last four weeks training intensively with Paul McIntyre in Noda, Japan.

Since I new Paul and his quality of teaching from a few online sessions, I did expect to make some progress in my practice. Still in the end I was left a bit by surprise about how much was actually possible.

After a couple of days into training, Paul saw, and pointed out to me with clarity, what I had to work on. Over the next weeks he then made me go through various drills and exercises. Patiently he kept pushing my boundaries, always keeping a sense of humor. Of course this what not always easy but I had a blast.

I admire Paul for his ability of finding ways to explain different aspects of the art, as well as for his generosity and kindness. He is a skilled practitioner, willing and able to share and teach.

Once more I am deeply grateful to have found a school where actual progress and change are possible for everyone who puts in the effort.”

“I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to train 1:1 with Paul in Japan. Not only has he dedicated his life to tai chi, he is also a very advanced meditator even though he says he is not :)

I had so many questions about spiritual path and he was and still is a truly great guidance. I don't understand how he has the answer every single time!

On top of this he is just very normal, has a family and is very easy to relate to. Everything I learned will be extremely valuable for the rest of my life but what I personally find the most inspiring is the loving kindness.

Paul doesn't prove with words but with his actions. Just hanging around with him taught me a lot which shows how good he is as a teacher.

‘‘I was very fortunate to have a month of intensive training under the guidance of Paul McIntyre. It was a lot of fun and deep transformational work on many levels. He really knew how to teach. It was very personal, clear and empowering.

He sees exactly where you are and what you need to improve. And he is very skilled at teaching it in a way that you can embody and understand. For me it felt like this is how it should be when learning with a teacher on a spiritual/martialarts path.

My body and mind opened up and changed a lot in this short time. I have no clue what Taiji really is, but I got a sense of how vast and beautiful it is to walk in its direction. Paul did not hold back. He gave me a lot of material that I will need to deepen and learn from for a long time.

Truly grateful, Anna-Barbara’’

“Initially i came to do an intensive with paul for 5 weeks in japan and ended up staying 6 months mostly full-time. Words cannot fathom the benefit i got from my time there.

I got a great insight into not only tai chi but how it blends with the spiritual life, and there was no moment where I felt he couldn’t answer any question.

Even when I waffled he found it. It brought me great clarity, and it seemed evidently clear in his personality as a kind family man, that he has the experience to guide someone towards true happiness.

His profound kindness is contagious in a great way, and showed me a level of inspiration I didn't know I had.”

“Paul McIntyre is the best Tai Chi teacher I have ever met.

Tai Chi is an embodied spiritual practice, and a sophisticated fighting art. As a martial artist, Paul is inspiring with his fluidity and power. He also demonstrates the calmness and depth of someone who is committed to pursuing a spiritual path. Paul can convey subtle concepts in simple language. He has a capacity to tune into a student’s learning curve, and deliver just what is needed to help the student to evolve to a higher level.“

Paul taught us how to open up our body from the muscles to the soft tissue surrounding it. The process was intense, the correction was subtle and effective and the results were obvious. I feel more sore (in a good way) and can’t wait to improve more on the next training with him.

George Lao, TaiChi practitioner – 30 years experience, Singapore

I have tried to learn the difficult art of Taiji Quan for thirty years. 24 years of learning only the form was not useful until I learned the HME Taiji by Sifu Adam Mizner online which builds the ‘Taiji Body’ missing from the ‘forms only’ Taiji teaching. Paul McIntyre is a competent level 2 instructor from the HME school, he visits Singapore from time to time to help students like myself. I am thankful for Paul’s sharing of knowledge.

Heaven Man Earth, a down to earth school of Taiji that goes straight to the very  foundations of traditional Taiji practice…and then goes further. Paul McIntyre, a friendly, cheerful and insightful instructor from the HME school whose guidance, even if brief, has helped several students (such as I) refine their Taiji practice, in both subtle and apparent aspects. Whether you’re just a beginner or a long time practitioner. There’s something of value for you to takeaway. So what are you waiting for? Come and see.

Micha Polak, TaiChi, Martial Arts & Yoga instructor - 40 years experience

“I went through a lot of chinese “masters” in order to learn the elusive art of tai chi chuan. Till finally I found Sifu Mizner and, with 40 years of experience in various arts, I could confidently say, “This is it”. “This is what the classics talk yet I find nowhere in the field”. Now comes the challenge of actually learning taichi chuan. Without going too deep into the pitfalls and the importance of a teacher. Just that without a teacher we are lost. My experience visiting Paul, one of sifu Mizner’s senior teachers, turned out to be a smart move. Everything Sifu Mizner does has quality and his students are a testament to this. Paul McIntyre has the best of both worlds. As a student and a teacher he knows what is needed to impart the knowledge. Paul works on a personal level. Measured to our needs and understanding. Paul can teach us how to train on a personal/daily level while getting a grasp on the whole. I feel that Paul has a knack for imparting the skills that are hiding just beneath the gross and obvious. He teaches directly from his own personal training practice . Pointing to the source in you , drawing from the source in himself. So i wholeheartedly advice everyone who wants to take their training to the next level , and can find the time, to go to visit Paul. Not only for the quality of the training , but as always the quality of character of the human-being. I did 6 weeks in Japan training with Paul and the food, the company, the culture and the chance to, on a personal level, discus one’s questions, aspirations, doubts and needs will be of invaluable use for years to come. It changed my understanding and inspires me daily.“

Ulrike Ebert, TaiChi & Qigong instructor – 30 years experience

“It was my first time in Japan when I went to train with Paul. It was an easy travel because Paul and his wife Yuko organized a perfect stay. They picked me up from the station, got an economic apartment for me, a bike and have been so helpful all around. The training was awesome. Paul is a very accurate teacher with clear instructions and explanations and precise hands on corrections. No matter what level you are, beginner or advanced, he integrates everyone smoothly in the small training group, so you feel welcomed and being taught according to your level and skills. His gentleness and openness to everyone coming to learn from him is wonderful. Thank you Paul, thank you Yuko for a perfect stay.”

Fabrice Schreiber – TaiChi Instructor

I was able to train with Paul for 3 weeks both small circle and 1:1 training in Japan. Paul inspired me straight away with his kindness, authenticity and sincere effort to teach the art in a very clear, honest and direct way. Paul instructions are specified for each student and he takes enough time to help each of his students to improve and to work on mistakes. Therefore I could improve a lot in a short time and even after 3 months since meeting Paul, I can still deepen my understanding of the exercises. I want to thank Paul for his kindness and compassion, which for me are a true inspiration on the path towards the absolute.

Gavin Smith – Beginner Qigong student. World traveler, Organic farmer, Camera Operator

I wanted to experience a different side of Japan, away from the usual tourist spots, while building on my basic Qi Gong knowledge.

I’m glad I trusted my instincts and chose to study with Paul in a week of one-on-one tuition—it was truly enriching. As a beginner, I found his guidance invaluable. He made the practice accessible and engaging. Practicing in the peaceful parks and temples enhanced the experience, making it easier to focus and connect with each movement.

Paul’s expertise was evident in every session—his calm, patient approach made learning both rewarding and enjoyable. This experience has had a lasting impact on me, and I’m thankful for the opportunity. Whether you’re new to Qi Gong or have some experience, I highly recommend this retreat for anyone wanting to explore a different part of Japan, deepen their practice, or learn something new.

Emaad Akhtar – Beginner TaiChi practitioner. Multimedia journalist, CNBC Singapore

I trained privately under Paul’s guidance in Noda City for about 2 weeks in the summer of 2024 and it was nothing short of a life-changing experience.

He has a wonderful ability to explain each and every aspect of the drills and practices (be it jibengong, neigong, song-gong, form or partner work) in an easily digestible manner,  which for a relative newcomer like myself, was extremely helpful and allowed my mind to saturate deeply into the body.

Through Paul’s sessions, I learnt a tremendous amount about proper structure, patience and release all whilst being pushed (in a good way) to my limits.

Paul has a great sense of humour and easy-going personality that he brings to the practice which made the experience all the more enjoyable.

On a physical level, I have noticed a marked improvement in posture and balance, while on a mental level, my field of awareness has expanded.

Taiji is a beautiful martial art and I am deeply grateful to have met and worked so closely with Paul. Thank you!
